dunk be true

tomorrow i'll be hitting the nike 'dunk be true' exhibition in the city (an assortment of direct and round about homages to the iconic shoe),
i'm guessing its gonna equate to a pretty cool arrangement of industry heads, art and hip-hop / electro lovers, or to simplify ; London's coolest.
now, the diplomatic thing, would be to attend, then give my often skeptical, always optimistic feedback... so that my friends, is what i'm gonna do...
one thing i will say however, is that if i see a single rope chain, i'll leave.
(darn, i think somebody just sprung to mind... hmm)

ghita fashion, the brainchild of alexis phifer (better known as kanye west's bride to be).
the designers work screams fashion school graduate... and positively so.
'structured experimentation' best defines ghita fashion. phifer's 2008 collection takes us back to the ever so bizzare 20's inspired 60's... observe mono-chromatic colour blockage, makintosh-esque detailing and neon perspex combinations.
i'm loving the re-introduction of last seasons platformed 'shoot'... as a former stylist, phifer clearly understands re-invention, teaming them with mini dresses and slight a-lines, not the predictable skinnies!.
haute coture?... maybe not.... ready to wear? absolutely.

I present Vanessa Annobil (myself) pre-haircut.
Currently sporting bright red lenths (or 'shorts' )... the asymmetric thing hit me hard ... an incredibly late digression (fashionably speaking), nevertheless i love it.
I'm a journalist, photographer, stylist and designer... i free-lance, dabble in abit of ALOT, collect and create clothing and spend my free days photographing the cool, trendy, unique and obscure.
A critic at heart, this blog acts as an outlet for my ever cynical, sometimes positively considerate views, and will hopefully entertain you guys.
To contextualize this rant, fashion is more than just a hobby for me.
And to pre-empt your 'cringe', I do indeed travel to the realms of cliche and cheese when describing it.... "I LIVE FASHION" "FASHION IS MY LIFE" "FASHION IS MY OXYGEN" (so on, so forth).
